This Week in the Bay: Show Banga on Love & Hip Hop, Lil B’s Curse & more

Welcome to the inaugural entry of This Week in the Bay! Thizzler will always keep you tapped in to the most important news about your favorite artists. Check in every Friday and we’ll get you your fix of Bay Area rap news! There’s a lot going on in the world of social media but you know there’s always something popping off This Week in the Bay.

Show Banga appears on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta!

@Showy4Mayor makes huge appearance and performs on VH1’s Love and Hip Hop. Show Banga is marketed as Love and Hip Hop’s star Karlie Redd’s artist on the come up. Representing Redd’s label, distributed through Empire, Showy performs before a huge audience for Redd’s birthday bash. Watch Showy get the whole crowd jumping, including a fired up Katt Williams on VH1’s Love and Hip Hop. We aren’t sure if Show Banga has actually signed up to be Karlie Redd’s artist, but we do know that it was a great look to have appeared on the popular cable series!

Lil B tweets that he’d be willing to lift Based God curse on KD if he signs with the Knicks!

@LilBTheBasedGod shocks the sports world yet again by informing everyone that the Based God is willing to lift his curse on Kevin Durant if the star small forward signs with the New York Knicks. Could this finally bring an end to this longstanding beef of 5 years between two legends? We’ll have to wait and see.

Daveed Diggs & Rafael Casal sit down with Black Thought

@DaveedDiggs & @RafaelCasal sit down with the legendary emcee @BlackThought. Artistic supermind, Black Thought is best known as a founder and front man of the Roots. Since Diggs and Casal are making major strides with their involvement in stage and music (Diggs just won a Grammy & a Tony this year for his role in the Broadway musical Hamilton), who knows what these creative moguls are plotting.

June is finally off of house arrest!

@JuneOnnaBeat deserves a salute as the production dynamo is finally fresh off house arrest. The dude has been involved with just about every popping Bay Area artist in the past few years, and as his MOZZY camp has blown up the man’s grind is incomparable. Now that he can get out of the house we can hope to see even more from the multi-talented producer/rapper.

Larry June shoots a new music video with Chuck Inglish!

@LarryJuneTFM & @ChuckIsDope were seen on snapchat working on a new music video. Perhaps it’s the visual for their past collaboration “Game for You,” or some unreleased heat. Either way the filming of the video was looking on point and came complete with a lady dance crew. Good job Larry! #YeeHee
