As we bring July to a close, we take a look back at the past week and outline all the noteworthy happenings. This week E-40’s collab with Ty Dolla $ign was officially certified Gold, G-Eazy ripped a performance on The Tonight Show, 21 Savage showed Mozzy some love and a lot more. Check out the full list below to get a sense of the past week!
Ty Dolla $ign & E-40’s “Saved” is certified Gold by the RIAA
E-40 has been experiencing wild successes in his career as of late and yesterday he shared with his fans that his collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign has officially been certified Gold by the RIAA. It’s dope because E-40’s been in the game over 20 years, and he’s showing that he has no plans of slowing down! Gold plaques, wines and malt liquors abound, 40’s independent grind has never been stronger!
Fetty Wap & PnB Rock are Big Fans of Lil Yase & Yatta’s “Foolin”
This week two of hip-hop’s most sought after vocalists, Fetty Wap and PnB Rock, posted a snapchat of themselves slapping Lil Yase and Yatta’s track “Foolin”. Who knows how these East Coast artists got wind of this banging Bay Area record, but it’s exciting to see music from new comers like Yase and Yatta reach so far. This does nothing more than make us wonder what a collab between these 4 would sound like. Nothing short of fire would be my guess!

G-Eazy Performs “Drifting” with Tory Lanez on The Tonight Show with Fallon
G-Eazy continues to prove he’s a super star. This week he hit up The Tonight Show’s along with Tory Lanez as the performed their single “Drifting” with the legendary Roots acting as their backing band. “Drifting” features Chris Brown but the duo had no issues switching up some bars and spicing up the track sans Brown. In addition to the performance Eazy played a round of “Catchphrase” along with Jimmy Fallon, Shay Mitchell, and Denis Leary. Here’s G-Eazy’s performance of “Drifting” on The Tonight Show.
21 Savage tweets Mozzy lyrics while slapping “Pain Killers”
When a rapper like 21 Savage is on a killer come up, landing an XXL Freshman spot and dropping a joint mixtape with Metro Boomin, one might wonder who this dude is listening to. This week 21 let us know, and the answer is Mozzy. 21 shared a screen grab on twitter of him slapping Mozzy & E Mozzy’s “Pain Killers” with a quote from the record. Mozzy posted to Instagram, captioning it “21 21 21!!! Gangland Fukin with that #MandatoryCheck.” These are two of the grittiest street rappers you can find today. You think this is simply a matter of game recognizing game or could we maybe see a collaboration from these two artists? I’m hoping for the latter!
Show Banga & Tayway link up for a studio session
Show Banga & Tay Way are definitely two of the hottest the Bay has to offer. Tay Way’s “Fuck it Up” is spreading like wild fire and Show Banga’s latest single with Iamsu, “How We Rock” is running up some serious numbers. When artists buzzing as much as theses two step into the studio together, who knows what the product might be. Hopefully we get the record sooner than later!
