Kamaiyah, DJ Fresh, and Snow Tha Product will appear on Madden 17 soundtrack

EA Sports is readying the release of Madden 2017, and they’ve just announced the track list for its soundtrack which features 3 Bay Area artists. Selected were YG ’s “Why You Always Hatin,” featuring Kamaiyah, Snow Tha Product’s “Not Tonight”, and the DJ Fresh produced “California” by Fashawn. The last Super Bowl was hosted in the Bay, so it only makes sense that the legendary video game series would show some Bay love.

Philthy Rich receives certificate of recognition from the City of Oakland

His Rich Gang cosign, countless releases, and major collaborations with artists like Birdman, Jim Jones, and Shy Glizzy have collectively made for a huge year for Philthy Rich, and the City of Oakland agrees. This week the mayor of Oakland presented Philthy a certificate of recognition for all his commendable achievements. This may come as surprise to many onlookers considering Philthy’s subject matter, but the Oakland rapper has a consistent history of philanthropy in Oakland communities. The guy just hosted a backpack giveaway at Youth Uprising last week!

E-40 and Kehlani turn up at Outside Lands

Last weekend was the biggest Outside Lands to date and a few of our Bay Area favorites rocked the festival’s stages with stand out performances. E-40 and Warren G were added for a last minute set on Saturday that had thousands running to catch the OGs rock. Sunday festival goers had all eyes on Kehlani, as the masses were looking to see her perform her new songs live. Mid-performance, Kehlani brought out friend and collaborator Marc E. Bassy to perform their track “Lock it Up”, making for a stellar special guest appearance. What would the Bay Area’s most celebrated music festival be without a few of the Bay’s finest gracing the stage?

Lil B has a rare performance in Russia!

Lil B joins the ranks of American superstars to have performed in Russia. Past performers have included the likes of Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Bon Jovi, and Aerosmith. The U.S. and Russia have been at odds since the Cold War, but one thing we can all agree on is our love for the Based God.
