It’s official! The music industry has gone DIGITAL! For those of you who have been sleeping under a rock for the past 10 years, this might be a surprise to you. With the emergence of Youtube and social networks artists have been able to spread their music across the world with just one click. This is something that was unheard of 10 years ago. Of course, with a drastic innovation of distribution and building a buzz for ones self, the record labels and artist had to adjust to the new changes of the industry. As for artist, the amount of material needed to be released just to stay relevant has quadrupled over the last decade. Most importantly; viral videos and mixtapes. With such a demand for new material it became impossible for artist or labels to pay top dollar for music videos and other promo materials. The combination of Youtube, social networks and advanced technology, artist have become what we call the “Renaisance Artist” or a do it yourself artist. Legends like Kanye West who is a rapper, producer, director, designer and executive take artistry to a whole new level as far being able to take their creations from the beginning to the finish all on their own.

Project Level’s vision is to create a stable of “Renaisance Artist” and provide the knowledge, tools and opportunities to do so. So far so good. Now we have taken it a step further with the addition of Bay Area Rap Star Erk Tha Jerk who is in his own right a well accomplished rapper, singer, producer, photographer, film editor and director. PL and Erk have came together to create an unique visual arts and digital media course called “Shot By Erk” . Shot By Erk will be an innovative course concentrating in photography and film and taught by a “rapper” which will inspire other artist to stretch their imagination and become multi-facitted and more hands on with their projects. The industry and technology has evolved, artist dont get left behind!!!
