He gets hyphy, but don’t get it twisted: Mistah F.A.B. does a lot more than go dumb. He’s been called the Freestyle King and Prince of the Coast, and is one of the Bay’s undisputed hardest workers. Even though he hasn’t had an album release since “The Baydestrian” in 2007, and even though problems with local radio have kept him off the airwaves, FAB has managed to stay relevant and even grow in popularity by consistently releasing street albums and by getting on hundreds of songs with artists from all over the map. Em Dub got a chance to meet up with Mistah F.A.B. over in Alameda, and they talked for almost 2 hours about how he got his name, how he got started in hip-hop, whether he would keep or fire Warriors head coach Don Nelson, what his campaign promise would be if he ran for Mayor of Oakland, how he would change the culture of negativity he talked about in his video Fuck The World, what the story is with his deal with Atlantic Records, his upcoming album Liberty: Forever Free, and much much more.
See part 2 this Wednesday, and hit the jump to see Fabby’s latest videos, Get Away and Fuck The World, both directed by Aris Jerome.
