@Caleborate was one of Thizzler’s last class of Bay Area Freshmen back in 2014. Since then the rapper has become known for his brand of honesty and lyric focused musicianship. Today he returns with a new album aptly titled Real Person. He explained that the album stands apart from 1993 and Hella Good because he decided to focus the bulk of his energy on the essentials i.e. the songwriting, and the bars, as opposed to the accoutrements i.e. mutiple vocal layers and features.
His singles “Soul” and “Bank Robber” showcase this minimalist, but masterful approach. On the production tip he brings along, Lege Kale, Adrian Per, Willem Ardui and few others. His features are few. The only features are Mack, 1-O.A.K. and Donte Thomas, who all deliver compelling performances on tracks that are sequenced one after the other. Check out the new album which is available on all streaming platforms today.
