“‘Watch your back’ and ‘be safe’ are regular mantras of Bay Area youth. Back in 2006 a cell phone could get you robbed, a bus ride could get you shot. Simple. Back then jacka told our story with no glorification. He saved our lives. Fast forward to 2015 when the the industry celebrates this bizarre ‘took her to the bay wit me’ swag culture. This is a mockery of our struggle. Due to the influx of the tech industry, the media is masking our pain. We are displaced, misunderstood, and endangered. Our highschools are crowded with kids battling PTSD and night terrors, yet industry cats thinks its one big turn up in northern california. I wont let this stand.
