Macntaj Just Dropped Big Bloc Meign!

We recently tapped in with Seattle/Sacramento’s Macntaj about his latest single “Stepped On” featuring Stackz The Rapper! Read about it here. Macntaj just delivered his album Big Bloc Meign too! Below we talked to him about it, more on his growth as a rapper, and found out what’s coming next! Read on ⤵️

Thizzler: Where are you from? How was your upbringing?

Macntaj: I was born in Seattle, WA. Grew up a little bit in Biloxi, Mississippi and Coatesville, PA. Became a man in South Sacramento. Growing up for me was like any other poor kid, hard times and good times. I learned to appreciate them both.

T: How did you begin making music?

Macntaj: When I was young my brother used to rap. He took me to the studio for the first time when I was 14. I’ve been doing music ever since then.

T: How did you get your rap name?

Macntaj: My big brother gave that nickname to me because I was good with the ladies. He went to prison not too long after that so I kept it in his honor.

T: How would describe your musical style?

Macntaj: Spontaneous and intentional. Growing up my two favorite rappers were Mac Dre and Killa Cam.

T: Tell me about “Stepped On.”

Macntaj: “Stepped On” was initially on Stackz tha Rapper’s album. After I got on the record he loved it so much we decided to put it on mine.

T: What inspired this new single?

Macntaj: Stackz tha Rapper’s energy did really. He’s so talented. I’ve always been a fan. I really just went in there and filled in the blanks in terms of the energy I felt the record needed.

T: How is it different than previous drops?

Macntaj: It’s a lot different. It’s more in your face Northern Cali influenced than a lot of my previous drops. Shit was fun as hell to make.

T: Is it part of a project? If so, can you tell me more about that?

Macntaj: Yes, it’s on Big Bloc Meign which is out now! Go get that.

T: What message do you want fans to walk away with after listening to “Stepped On”?

Macntaj: We like to have fun and talk shit, but not for one second ever think it’s sweet. We used to do the most growing up, now we’re more about getting our money and taking care of our families. It was never on us always in us.

T: What’s next?

Macntaj: I’m tryna feed Kehlani pizza rolls on the beach.

T: Is there anything else you want to say?

Macntaj: GO GET THAT ALBUM. IT’S BLOC STAR TRICC!
