Set in Keith Lea’s hometown of Stockton, CA, the plot opens with the city Mayor vowing to revitalize the town by eradicating gangs, gun violence, and homeless folks through any and all means necessary. Racial economic inequalities make some residents feel as though their backs are pressed against an unmovable wall. Dangerous and deadly risks are taken to protect loved ones from this oppression, while simultaneously fighting injustice against the institutional and systematic racism placed upon them.
