2017 is wrapping up, which means it’s the Bay’s award season! Best Of Thizzler is our annual opportunity to spotlight the Bay’s biggest and most meaningful accomplishments of the year. From the Bay’s most exciting rookies, to the most accomplished acts, directors and producers, we salute the people that have been making moves & pushing the envelope with fire releases. With the goal of exposing great music and artists while rewarding hard work, Best Of Thizzler is a huge cosign from the entire Thizzler staff and the Bay Area as a whole. This year the accolades were determined by a combination of fan votes, and votes casted by a panel of 44 of the Bay’s most respected, tapped in, and experienced tastemakers. The panel consists of people involved in the music industry at various capacities from creation, management, marketing, booking and more! The panel based their votes on 4 factors:
– Artistic Quality (Was it good? Was it creative and unique?)
– Cultural/Regional Impact (How much does the Bay champion it? Is it getting played at parties, in offices, at home etc?)
– Reach (How are the numbers stacking up? Consider views, plays and editorial coverage from local and national publications)
– Accolades (Did it receive awards? Did it make it on to any lists? Did it hit any significant milestones?)
