@Kehlani is back with a new MilliBeatz produced single titled “I Already Won”. The Oakland bred songstress takes power away from her critics, by taking ownership of her successes. Sonically the record doesn’t feel dissimilar to early and mid-2000’s R&B records. Amerie and Brandy in particular come to mind for this blogger. Kehlani is confident and proud on “I Already Won”, which are colors that look and sound great on her. The singer/songwriter relishes in her award nominations, and even in her boastfulness, takes the time to mention her humility and grace. She gives us some rapped bars on the second verse, as she takes aim at fickle affection and unwarranted judgement from people who fail to realize that they have no right to judge her life.
