@DUCKWRTH returns with a new mixtape aptly titled An Xtra UUGLY Mixtape. The 13 track outing is the follow up to 2016’s I’M UUGLY and his first project with Republic. While his last full length was drenched in Funk and Punk music influenced Hip-Hop that often inspired nasty dance moves, DUCKWRTH’s latest outing doesn’t seem to have the same end game. While tracks like “Throwyoassout” and “Michuul.” are great to dance to, the rest of the project offers other moods. The intro “Xtra” and “Wake Up” give us some Garage Rock feels whereas “Summer’s Exit” could be an Indie record, but like if Prince’s son sang it lol.
One of the things that has made DUCKWRTH such an exciting act to see on the rise is his willingness to explore different genres, strip them down, juxtopose them and make them his own. That remains true on his latest effort An XTRA UUGLY Mixtape. Check out the project on iTunes below.
