@ItsKamaiyah’s A Good Night In The Ghetto mixtape landed last year, and it landed hard. Now a little over a year later, the Oakland rapper plans to have the parties lit once again. While we don’t know much about Don’t Ever Get It Twisted, Kamaiyah has proven that she’s an adept songwriter with a unique style and strong roots in old-school West Coast hip-hop. While we’re sad we won’t get the project tomorrow as originally promised due to sample clearances, we’re glad to know that it’s coming soon.
DEGIT’s cover is inspired by the most iconic image of Black Panther founder and late-leader Huey P. Newton sitting atop a throne-like share in all black, emanating power and pride. Kamaiyah seems to be embracing her hometown roots and also sending the message that she intends to make some power moves with her impending release. We can’t wait!
