P-Lo turned up at Social Hall SF on the #BeforeAnythingTour (Recap)

It was a cold San Francisco evening Friday, July 22nd and people from all over the Bay came to The Social Hall to see one person, P-Lo. His Before Anything Tour began just a few days before in Los Angeles, then hit Santa Cruz and Sacramento, before finally making its way back home to the Bay. Noodles and Caleborate were on the road too, rounding out the excitement as openers for the HBK rapper/producer. His album, Before Anything, was released this January and it was a huge success. So it was no surprise that he straight up sold out the San Francisco venue. This was his first headlining concert in the City.

As the venue started to fill and the front of the stage became more and more crowded, the sound of screaming girls filled the air. Caleborate was first up on stage, and then it was Noodles on the DJ table. She kept everybody hyped up and dancing while we waited for the man of the hour. With all three of the performers repping the Bay, it was great to see such a big turnout. Local fans supporting local artists. When P-Lo finally came out, the lights were dimmed and the crowd went absolutely crazy. Wearing a huge smile on his face, he greeted his fans (or best friends as he calls them), with hella enthusiasm. It was obvious everyone in the room was waiting for this moment for a long time.

With energy levels super high, everyone looked to be having a really great time. Show Banga came out for a few songs and the people loved it. Between songs P-Lo would address his friends with some positive words, spreading a great message among the youth to never give up on your dreams. One of the dopest parts about P-Lo’s performance was that he had a live band with him! I saw P-Lo perform almost two years ago in San Jose, and it is truly incredible to see how not only his fan base has grown, but so have his abilities as an entertainer. After Showy, it was Nef the Pharaoh who surprised fans with a guest performance. Kool John was also among the artists who rocked the stage, performing their ever popular hit single “Blue Hunnids”.

Overall the show was not only fun and entertaining, but inspiring. Not only did fans come show love, but other local artists came through too. Like HBK/Shmop Life members F.L.I.P. and Skipper, who could occasionally be seen against the back wall of the venue sparking up. To see Bay Area culture being fully embraced and appreciated in such a positive way, is moving. We have so much talent coming out of the Bay Area, no wonder we are such proud people!

Shoutout HBK Gang, and thank you to P-Lo for putting on a great show.
