Nef The Pharaoh Stands Up and Fights Back
@NefThePharaoh was one of many in Oakland to march and rally for the Black Lives Matter movement and in protest of police brutality and the recent high profile police killings. The protest was huge, drawing thousands of protesters who marched from downtown Oakland to the Highway 880, where they blocked traffic for hours.
Even though it was definitely inconvenient for bystanders caught in the traffic, it’s always dope to see a good cause bringing people together & forcing the media to pay attention. Were you there?
IAMSU! Trolls Twitter
@IAMSU joined in on the fun surrounding Frank Ocean’s long awaited Boys Don’t Cry album. Su rocked the twittersphere with a huge troll. He tweeted “Damn frank ocean album blap!” and even goes as far as thanking him for being part of history, hinting that he’s actually involved with the project! IAMSU! later posted a tweet admitting he was just kidding, after media outlets spread the news like wildfire. Amongst all the other hype and trolling revolving around Frank Ocean’s upcoming album, this joke certainly made waves.
Philthy Rich Makes a Big Appearance in Atlanta
@PhilthyRichFOD hung out with @MeekMill at the MMG pool party in Atlanta. The two are shining bright with all their chains on in this meeting of two street legends. Still haven’t met a rich hater! Between this & the “Wing Stop” remix with Rick Ross, Philthy has definitely been getting close with the MMG camp lately…
Lil B Announces ‘The Based God’s Curse’ on Kevin Durant is Lifted
Last week @LilBTheBasedGod shared “If KD goes to the New York Knicks I am willing to lift the curse” wow!! “The BasedGod” just told me to say this.” Since then KD announced his decision to sign with the Golden State Warriors, and Lil B’s shocking announcement to welcome KD “home” and lift the curse shook the world. In fact Lil B’s tweet announcing the lifting of the curse received double the amount of RT’s KD’s tweet announcing his career decision. Lil B raked in 115,000 RT’s, while Durant only got 66,000. Regardless the news is a win win for the Bay Area and Kevin Durant must be relieved after 5 years of dealing with the aftermath of the Based God’s haunting curse.
Noisey Visits the Bay to film a documentary
Vice’s music blog, Noisey, slid through the Bay to begin shooting Noisey Bay Area. In the past they’ve shot series of in depth documentaries covering major music hubs like Atlanta and Chicago, and now it’s the Bay’s turn. The documentary is set to include @PhilthyRichSOD, @Berner415, @G_Eazy, @NefThePharaoh, @LilBTheBasedGod, @LarryJuneTFM and more! Here’s a gem of Nef smoking out Noisey and a snapchat Philthy Rich sent out of Noisey’s Zach Goldbaum posted in the back of his fancy Wraith. It’s lit, good job Noisey!
