@Kehlani sold out her first headlining show ever at Oakland’s New Parish. The songstress is undeniably one of Oakland’s brightest rising stars, so it makes sense that she chose one of the city’s best venues to make her debut as a headlining act. Though she followed stellar performances from openers Dave Steezy and Marc E. Bassy, Kehlani killed the show.
The first lady of HBK seamlessly ran through hits from Cloud 19 as well as newer singles like “Til Morning”. Though new to headlining, Kehlani moved like a veteran on stage, likely a result of building upon the experience she received early on as contestant on America’s Got Talent. She danced, she sang, she even gave a girl a lap dance as she belted out “1st Position”. Kehlani was the star of the night, even after delivering guest appearances from the Bay Area’s biggest acts IAMSU! and G-Eazy. We look forward to seeing more from this talented singer and songwriter.
