In the three years that Thizzler has been operating, one of the things that we have taken the most pride in doing is shining the light on the diversity that defines Bay Area hip-hop. We got as much love for Livewire as we do for Bored Stiff, and therefore find it of the utmost importance that we provide fans an equal opportunity to enjoy all ends of the local hip-hop spectrum. That’s why we couldn’t wait to host the Bay Freshmen 10 Class of 2011 STAR Cyphers. Where else can you see Rafael Casal share a stage with Lil Rue? Or Richie Cunning share a cypher with Erk Tha Jerk? Or Cousin Fik freestyle on the same mic as Mistah F.A.B.? Those things just don’t happen at your typical Bay Area rap show, but that’s exactly what 252 fans got to experience, for FREE, this past Sunday afternoon at the Brick and Mortar Music Hall in San Francisco.
