I was supposed to meet up with Nikatine da King, Knowledge Fit Game, and Chip$ Black at 6 o’clock last week. Although we didn’t actually meet until around 6:45, they weren’t technically late: they had been in the parking lot smoking since about 6. It was well worth the wait. Over the next 7 hours, I got to talk to them about their creative process, witness them smoke blunt after blunt after blunt, and ultimately watch them gas 330 Ritch in front of a lively crowd of devoted fans. Below is the conversation we had over buffalo wings, french fries, and pitchers of much needed ice water.
