“I’m young, and I’m fly, and I don’t want to grow up,” Young Murph The Kidd (YMTK) exclaims on his latest track “Murphy Pan,” featuring Big Steve. It’s a sentiment a number of 20/30-somethings can relate to, even if it’s only for the weekend. I’m torn between wanting to dance and wanting to search Netflix since the video takes it’s treatment from the 1979 classic, The Warriors.
If you are unfamiliar with the film, and think that this video is a reference to that Bad Boy joint from your childhood, get to searching.
If you’re new to YMTK, he is an LA-based Oakland artist who has worked with The Cataracs and produced Bobby Brackins and Ray J’s “143.” Through the years he’s shown is various musical influences, but his singles are definitely club/house party friendly.
If you’re on your Pan ish and looking for a spring/summer anthem, you just might be in luck.
