We caught up with 106.1 FM KMEL All Star DJ, DJ AMEN, and followed him through a typical day. As one of the Bay Area hip-hop scene’s most prolific young movers and shakers who has made his name by supporting up & coming artists daily in addition to founding the yearly Bay Area Freshmen 10, a typical day with him took us from Amoeba Records in San Francisco to legendary burrito spot Papalote to the Clear Channel building where KMEL is located and more. We also linked with The Cool Kids, spent a minute chopping it up with Dorrough Music on how DJ Amen broke his “Ice Cream Paint Job” record, met DC from KMEL’s Damn It’s Late Show, and last but not least, hit up the TeamBackPack Summer Series cypher at 330 Ritch, where we linked with tons of up and coming artists and other Bay Area staples. A busy day from a busy man. What’s coming up next from Amen? I heard he’s going to be getting his Vitamin Water with Thizzler On The Roof with a special season of “Under The Bay: On The Rise”!
